GNWA architecture does not follow one particular school nor style; each project is an answer to a specific context and programme, translated in a strong concept. Markus Weck describes their approach as "trying to set priorities for each project without preconceived ideas to find the essentials and its specificity."

The clients appreciate GNWA's focus on creating buildings mass-tailored to their needs. The building in Romont primarily houses a swimming pool serving the local schools, but is also open to the community with the additional space for a music conservatory, cafeteria, and sports facilities. The rooms are organised for the optimal fulfilment of organisation requirements.

At first, the client was sceptical towards bringing in light from the ceiling and favouring standard solutions. Indeed, the price estimate for custom-made metal structure and skylights was exceeding the budget. The architects were convinced about the benefits of vertical sunlight and were adamant about searching for solutions to realise their vision.

Thanks to a collaboration between the client, architects and VELUX, the goal has been achieved: architects adjusted the standard details to fit the design of beams incorporating structure, pipes and acoustics, and last but not least, the cost could be reduced.
